After Ashley and her husband Ryan had trouble getting pregnant on their own, they decided to meet with a Reproductive Endocrinologist (RE) and hoped to learn more about infertility. Ashley found KC Infertility back in 2013 hoping to find others going through a similar situation. She started attending the support group each month. During this time, they started their first round of IUI with new medications. Unfortunately, it was not successful. She became pregnant on her own after this round of IUI, only to have a miscarriage at 8 weeks. They attempted 5 more round of IUI with different medications without success. Next it was time to move on to IVF. During the first round of IVF, they had 2 healthy embryos placed but neither of them took. IVF round 2 was started with different medications, they had another healthy 2 embryos placed. Neither of these took. At the request of their RE they decided to take a step back and try IUI one more time. They both agreed to one last procedure. This round of IUI was successful and they proudly welcomed a baby boy in October 2016. Since that time Ashley has been an active volunteer within the organization and is now excited to be a part of the KC Infertility board!
